Picture of Air Quality Measuring Station

The air quality stations are part of Porto's environmental sensing and monitoring network. These stations can measure Ozone (O3), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5). Data on these parameters is sent every 15 minutes, regardless of the measurement frequency.

Air quality stations are small stations that can be installed outside on street furniture such as lampposts, bollards, and shelters.

These technologies contribute to the digitalization of urban space, creating an infrastructure network that monitors environmental parameters like noise, air quality, and meteorological observations. The sensors collect real-time data, which is then processed and stored for analysis. The information collected is available in an open data format and can be accessed via the Meteorological Management and Maintenance Platform PMGM
