What is a weather station?
The weather stations are small stations that can be installed in outdoor street furniture infrastructures such as lampposts, bollards, and shelters. They measure various meteorological parameters including air temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, global solar radiation, and ultraviolet radiation index. These sensors are connected to the Porto Free Wi-Fi Network to transmit live data to municipality services.
Who owns the weather sensors?
The meteorological sensors located in Porto belong to the city and are installed as part of the environmental sensor network. Porto Digital is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and sharing the data collected by these sensors.
