Porto City’s traffic CCTV cameras monitor traffic 24 hours a day but do not record footage.

Around 140 cameras are installed at strategic locations throughout the city, and the transmission happens only in real time and exclusively through the Integrated Management Center (CGI - CGI constitutes the operational coordination center of the Municipality of Porto).

These cameras help manage traffic flow and respond to real-time traffic situations in the city. The images captured by these cameras are never saved or stored and are only viewed by the personnel responsible for traffic management.

Additionally, the traffic CCTV system includes features such as privacy masking, alarm responses, and image stabilization, making it an effective and reliable resource for public safety.
